We're Berkay and Kutay Dönmez

Berkay holds an MSc in Atmospheric Sciences and a BSc in Meteorological Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, where his thesis examined how urban land use shapes frontal and convective precipitation events in Ankara.

He has worked as a project engineer at Cirrus, applying statistical methods and CMIP6 climate model output to assess climate-related risk for the UNDP's Enhancing Adaptation Action in Turkey project, and as a data science intern at Tarentum AI, building dashboards to evaluate wind power forecasts.

Kutay is a PhD researcher at Empa, the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology, in collaboration with ETH Zurich, where he studies how street trees shape urban cooling and outdoor thermal comfort using the ICON model.

He holds an MSc in Atmospheric Sciences and a BSc in Meteorological Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, where his research focused on extreme precipitation in Türkiye. He also maintains Visjobs, an open-source Python library for pulling atmospheric model and observation data without manual downloads.
